Trash service is sold in 32-gallon units with carts provided by Western available in 32, 64, or 96-gallon sizes. Rates are based on cart size. Trash is collected every week.
Optional trash service: prepaid bags
If you do not generate enough trash to fill a 32-gallon cart each week, you may purchase a box of 35 specially-marked trash bags that you can put out for collection when needed. The cost of collecting these bags whenever they are set out is included in their purchase price. If you put out no more than two of the bags per month, you can save money compared to subscribing for regularly scheduled service. NOTE: If you choose this service option, Western will supply you with recycling carts and will collect the recyclables bi-weekly. (There is a monthly charge for the recyclables collection in addition to the cost of the prepaid trash bags.)
Unlimited recyclables collection is included in the cost of 32-, 64- and 96-gallon cart service. If you choose prepaid bag service, an additional charge for recyclable collection will be applied per Boulder County ordinance. If you have a 32- or 64-gallon recyclables cart and need more capacity, you can get a 96-gallon cart at no extra charge – Click here or call us at 303-444-2037. If you need more than one 96-gallon cart for your recyclables, there is a small fee for each additional cart. Recyclables are collected every other week.
