Large item collection
Each resident served under the City program is eligible for free pickup of one large item once each calendar quarter on their regular collection day. An example of a large item is a piece of furniture, an appliance, a piece of small equipment, a lawnmower (fuel and oil must be removed), a BBQ grill, or a mattress. Freon-containing appliances are not included as a free item, but we will collect them for a fee. Customers may not “accumulate” free item collection. In other words, you may not have three items collected free-of-charge during the third quarter of a year because you did not have any collected during the first two quarters of the year.
For a large item pickup, call Western’s Customer Service Department at 303-444-2037. If prior arrangements are not made, the items will be left at the curb.
Recyclables are collected every other week alternating with compostables. Unlimited recyclables collection is included in the cost of the trash service you select. You select the cart size that works best for you. You may request more than one cart. Click here for recycling guidelines.
