Securing your trash is the most important step you can take to reduce the chance of conflicts between bears and people.
Bears that come into town to eat trash are often killed as a result of conflicts with people. Removing food sources by securing your trash will help keep bears safely in their natural habitat.
Securing trash is simple. Make sure your cart is locked!
Lock your cart by firmly pressing down on the lid with two hands, one each side of the latch, until you hear a click.
