Why should you sign up?
It’s easy! Western offers compostables collection service in 64-gallon carts and in 2- and 3-cubic-yard containers. We will collect your compostables once or twice per week, meeting your individual needs. Composting guidelines in both English and Spanish are posted on our composting carts and composting dumpsters.
It’s clean! Western will rinse out your container(s) using a pressurized water tank mounted on our collection truck. Since no plastic bags are allowed with this service, we will help keep your container clean each time we provide service.
In Boulder - your business will qualify for a city of Boulder rebate that will help pay for the service. The city of Boulder currently has a composting collection incentive in place to help you pay for our new service. The City will rebate $2.50 per cubic yard toward the cost of composting collection service. Western will show this rebate on your monthly invoice as a credit toward the service cost.
Also in Boulder it will reduce the trash tax you pay. In addition to the City helping to pay for composting collection service, you can also save the $.85 per cubic yard trash tax on every cubic yard of waste you switch from trash service to composting service.

What happens to my compostable materials?

We own and operate our composting facility right here in Boulder. The compostables that are collected on route are ground with yard waste material and composted. The end product, Western’s “Green ‘N Grow” compost, is then available for sale to the public in bags or in bulk by the yard. Our Green ‘N Grow compost contains no manures or bio-solids and is ideal for all planting and gardening needs. Call us at 303-444-2037 to learn more about our compost availablity.

Our Sales Representatives are happy to come to your business to help you redesign your trash and recycling service and incorporate composting collection.
