Collection services are regulated by a municipal contract with the city of Lafayette.
Composting is not required or offered in this area.
Trash collection: Trash service is sold in 32-gallon units with carts provided by Western available in 32-, 64-, or 96-gallon sizes. Rates are based on cart size. Trash is collected every week.
Large Item Collection: Each resident served under the City program is eligible for free pickup of one large item once each calendar quarter on their regular collection day. An example of a large item is a piece of furniture, an appliance, a piece of small equipment, a lawnmower (fuel and oil must be removed), a barbeque grill, or a mattress. Freon-containing appliances are not included as a free item, but we will collect them for a fee. Customers may not "accumulate" free item collection. In other words, you may not have three items collected free-of-charge during the third quarter of a year because you did not have any collected during the first two quarters of the year.
For a large item pickup, call Western's Customer Service Department at 303-444-2037. If prior arrangements are not made, the items will be left at the curb.
Recyclables Collection: Unlimited recyclables collected every other week. One 96-gallon cart is provided by the City for your recyclables.
To set up service, call Western Disposal at 303-444-2037.
