Join us for a free, behind-the-scenes walking tour of our Trash & Recycling Center where you’ll get a close-up look at how we responsibly manage Boulder County’s waste stream while “Leading the Way to a Better Environment”. Your visit will last about one hour and include a primer on recycling and waste diversion in Boulder County. Then it’s on with the show with stops at our natural gas fueling station, solar array, transfer station, recycling & baling bays, yard & wood waste site and compost yard. You’ll be right in the middle of the action so come prepared with sensible shoes and a sense of adventure. Parking is limited — please carpool whenever possible!
Public Tours: Western conducts public tours of our facilities the third Wednesday, March through September, at 11 a.m. Please note, space is limited so reservations are REQUIRED — click here to sign up.
Group Tours: Day in and day out, Western Disposal engages in the important work of responsible waste management. If you are the organizer of a school group or environmentally focused organization looking to enhance your understanding through a visit to Western Disposal’s facilities, we may be able to accommodate a visit during the late fall/winter months. Please send your request via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
